The Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility of KSU BalieM Arabica
Koperasi Serba Usaha Baliem Arabica as the leading “native coffee business entity” in Papua and Papua Barat provinces and Papua New Guinea has inherent environmental and social responsibilities. [tabs slidertype=”top tabs”] [tabcontainer] [tabtext]ECR[/tabtext] [tabtext]CCR[/tabtext][tabtext]Global Responsibility[/tabtext] [/tabcontainer] [tabcontent] [tab]Environmental Corporate Responsibility demands KSU Baliem Arabica as a business entity that is fully dependent on the natural environment to be aware of the need and duty of environmental protection for the sake of future lives and future generations.
ECR of KSU Baliem Arabica launched three major projects to care of the natural environment, namely the Eco-Tourism Project; Invasive Plants Removal Operation in New Guinea Island, and Adopt A Tree in New Guinea project.
- Eco-Tourism Project is intended for guests and public visitors to visit coffee plantation sites and traditional villages in the highlands and lowlands of New Guinea where the coffee plantation exisits;
- Exotic plants that are Invasive are to be removed from the Isle of New Guinea, first of all by identifying, then campaigning among the Papuan societies so that the people themselves are prepared to act in removing exotic plants which are regarded as invasive.
- On the top is the Adopt A Tree Project that aims at bringing the deforestation and cutting down of trees in New Guinea Island to an end.[/tab]
[tab]Social Corporate Responsibility demands KSU Baliem Arabica as a business entity that is fully run and operated by its members to be responsible for the improvement of income of its members and also help communities surrounding the areas where the business is run by providing public facilities and assistance for the poorest families or individuals and orphanages.[/tab]
